Haku brooch – 2024 Year of the Dragon

Happy Year of the Dragon!

In addition to the design of the Ryū brooch, based on an Asian dragon, I made this special brooch inspired by Haku, a character from the Japanese animated movie “Spirited Away” (千と千尋の神隠しSen to Chihiro no kamikakushi), directed by Miyazaki Hayao of Studio Ghibli.

Haku is the spirit of a river in the form of a dragon that helps the main character on her adventure.

All his elements, from the small silk pieces folded using the tsumami zaiku technique, to his legs made from wire, are hand-shaped.

Wearing this brooch please take care of his whiskers which can get stuck on the clothes.

All the brooches are handmade, so, as far as they follow the same pattern, there can be little differences among the piece used for pictures and the one you will receive.
