“The Birth of Venus” brooch
60,00 €
For an art lover, I couldn’t wait to try to transform some paintings into objects made with tsumami zaiku.
In this case we are talking of “The Birth of Venus”, by Sandro Botticelli from 1485.
It is one of the most known artworks from Italian Renaissance and it is currently conserved in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
In such a little space I chose to reproduce only the face of Venus: following the lines of her hair with fabric was not easy, but I hope I did justice to the original.
This brooch is made of hand-dyed silk, with details rendered through threads and beads.
