Chidori hairpin

75,00

In Japanese tradition, the word chidori (千鳥 “a thousand birds”) identifies both some migratory birds (plovers) and a pattern widely used on fabrics, ceramics and other items.

This pattern consists of many triangle shaped birds.

In this hair accessory I put together that shape with the realistic colors of a Japanese plover.

They are often depicted near water elements, so I decided to add a sea wave and some other round waves from the traditional motif “seigaiha”.

This item is made of hand-dyed silk and it is decorated with small beads and metallic threads.

Everything is fixed on a silver hairpin.

It is very easy to wear on an updo or a half updo.

This accessory is made and decorated entirely by hand. It needs to be worn and handled with care.
